New in Obsidian Copilot: celebrating 2M downloads, upcoming supporter preview features
Copilot has passed 2 million downloads. Thank you for the support, and for filling our Discord with what you've built on V4.
We keep shipping fast. Check out the latest releases and update Copilot to get everything below.
Short on time? Every release now comes with a one-minute video preview. Watch 4.0.13: Codex asks before it edits and 4.0.12: OpenCode 2 in your vault, or see them all in our release playlist.
Stick around to the end for previews of voice chat, diff view, mobile remote access, and custom agents.
Watch: Copilot V4 in daily use
Logan shows how he uses V4 every day, from a dashboard built in a single chat to a 7,000-note vault he reorganized in under an hour.
Auto-upgrade agents
Codex and OpenCode ship new versions often, and each one brings new models and fixes. Copilot now reinstalls the versions it manages for you automatically, the next time it loads. That's how Codex picked up GPT-6.1 Sol and OpenCode moved to OpenCode 2.
Privacy improvements
We're putting real work into privacy across the tools we build, so your notes reach only the AI you choose. Here's what shipped.
Miyo folder access per connection
Every AI app that reaches Miyo, from a ChatGPT or Claude connector on the web to a local MCP app like Claude Desktop, is now its own connection. Choose which folders each one can see: give your work ChatGPT your work notes and your personal Claude your journal. See what's new in Miyo 0.3.0 →
Codex Plan mode and Safe mode
Codex now checks with you before it changes your vault. In Plan mode, it lays out its plan and waits for your approval before it starts. In Safe mode, it asks permission before each edit, the same way Claude and OpenCode do.
What people say about Copilot
I just asked if I should create notes to follow my sales of clothes on Vinted in Obsidian instead of my Google Drive table, and the little buddy started to create the whole system. Before, I struggled with both ChatGPT and Claude combined the whole day to create one little shaky dataviewjs table, and here it built the whole ecosystem in less than 3 minutes.
Miyo has been awesome for using ChatGPT and Claude in conducting research, worldbuilding and editing notes using Obsidian for writing a novel. It's great getting both AIs to be able to see each other's reasoning without having to copy and paste everything.
